Holly Clarke
PhD Student
Holly graduated from the University of York with a 2:1 in Chemistry (MChem) in 2018. During her undergraduate degree, she specialised in Green and Environmental Chemistry. Her Master’s research project was in the Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence under Professor Michael North and Dr Anne Routledge, investigating the use of green solvents for solid phase peptide synthesis, and exploring the antimicrobial potential of ciprofloxacin-peptide conjugates made through solid phase methodology. Holly then spent 6 months working at GlaxoSmithKline before joining the University of Leeds. Holly is in her first year of her PhD in the Institute of Process Research & Development, supervised by Dr Richard Bourne, Dr Thomas Chamberlain, and Professor Colin Fishwick. Her research on the use of multistage self-optimising continuous flow systems for the synthesis of pharmaceutical products is sponsored by Dr Reddy’s Laboratories.
