Brendan Hall

PhD Student

University of Leeds

Brendan graduated from the University of Leeds in 2017 with an integrated master’s degree in chemistry. During the final year of his studies, he worked under the supervision of Richard Bourne developing a high temperature and pressure-packed bed flow reactor for catalysed ethanol homologation. After his degree, Brendan went on to pursue a PhD with the Complex Particulates and Processes CDT, where he completed a second masters working with Thomas Chamberlain on a project involving carbon-supported palladium catalysts for heterogeneously catalysed Suzuki cross-coupling reactions. Brendan is currently working with Richard Bourne and Thomas Chamberlain to create a system capable of optimising nanoparticle catalysts for organic reactions.
