Jen graduated from her MChem degree at the University of Sheffield in 2025. In her third year, she carried out a project in the synthesis of pyrazole trifluoroborate salts with Prof. Joe Harrity. Her MChem project focused on the synthesis of boronic ester containing piperidines with Dr Ben Partridge. Subsequently, Jen moved to Leeds to pursue her PhD under the guidance of Prof. Thomas Chamberlain, Dr Adam Clayton, and Prof. Richard Bourne.  The project focuses on the investigation of digitally directed optimisation of heterogeneous catalysis for hydrogenations of heteroaromatics and downstream functionalisations, sponsored by AstraZeneca and in collaboration with University of Liverpool with Prof. Jianliang Xiao and Dr Christophe Aissa.
