Kes McNicholas’s final year project focuses on utilising carbon-supported manganese oxide nanoparticles for organic dye degradation and wastewater treatment. He is investigating how different carbon supports can be used to maximise the catalytic activity of his materials. Aside from chemistry, he is interested in cinema; his favourite directors include David Lynch, Denis Villeneuve, Wes Anderson, and Francis Ford Coppola.
